And I don't mean low Croatian prices in Kunas but a rather good speed record, so far:-) The day after Sally's daughter Kimberley and our australian friends Julie and Kate joined us in Trogir we got a NW 8-13 m/s down wind and with Kimberley at the wheel we topped with 10.4 knots slightly downhill from a big wave. Still counts, though. And we reached speeds higher than 10 knots at several other occasions during that session. "Two digits racing" as my friend Ulf usually jokes about.
It turned out that Kimberley was a really good helmsman, the swell trail after the boat was kept in a straight line - not bad at all. But she's been on the helm before. Kate also tried out the steering for a while, this was her first time, and eventually she also got the right feeling for it.
On top of this we had some wonderful days together visiting various swimming coves, island fish restaurants and countless transports in the dinghy. Everyone but Julie also got to experience some degree of seasickness as the sea was occasionally very choppy.
We still had appetite though for those delicious lunches that Julie and Kate served us :-)
Another interesting experience is to swim in the middle of the Adriatic sea with 90 m water depth. The water temperature of 25.7 C was very comfortable....so swimming was one of our other favourite activities.
