The order of the day is seeing the advantages of being involuntarily stuck in one place for several days. The repairs to the boat can take until Sunday, but that´s the deadline, ´coz we´re off to meet Kimberley on Monday in Split.
This morning we have mounted a new wind meter which has not functioned since we left 3 weeks ago. This entailed hoistering someone up to the top of the mast which is 20.7m! We also bought a new fluxgate electronic compass to replace the old one which was being very temperamental and unreliable. Both jobs were quickly done and it feels good to have all the instruments in working order. The advantage of having to make repairs is that you get to know your boat very well :)
While the boys were busy with their jobs I did some washing. One of those simple practical things that feel so good once done. Very few harbours have these facilities so we were once again lucky to have found ourselves here considering our stay was unplanned.
Once arrangements for the repair of the boat keel were arranged, we checked into an hotel and started to plan trips to surrounding places of interest. Tomorrow we will be taking the bus first to Sibernik and then on to Skradin to visit the famous waterfalls. Temperatures today have been close to 40deg, so we can only hope for some cooler weather and airconditioning on the buses tomorrow.
